Samuel J. Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts in New York City
Starting November 1, 2026, the I.A.T.S.E. National Health and Welfare Fund has partnered with the Samuel J. Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts in New York so that Fund participants can receive in-network primary and specialty health care at the Friedman Health Center at no cost—there are no copays, coinsurance or deductibles to meet.
The Friedman Health Center is part of the Mount Sinai network, which is in Anthem’s network and has been available to Fund participants as an in-network facility. Now, the care you receive at the Friedman Health Center will be at no cost to you. The Friedman Health Center’s goal is to offer a healthcare experience that focuses on treating you as a whole person and to actively work with you to keep you healthy instead of merely treating you when you’re sick. If you have any questions, contact the Fund Office.
Friedman Health Center Overview
In 2017, the Entertainment Community Fund and Mount Sinai Doctors partnered to create the Friedman Health Center to serve the performing arts and entertainment community in the New York City area.
At the Friedman Health Center, Fund participants can get top-quality care from Mount Sinai providers and won’t be charged a copay for the visit.
The team of health professionals at the Friedman Health Center work together to provide a “medical home” for patients. It feels like having an old-style family doctor, but with a team of professionals, working together and with you to provide the best possible personalized and coordinated care.
The Friedman Health Center is located in Times Square and offers many services in one location with same- or next-day appointments available—including primary care, urgent care, podiatry, sports medicine, gynecology, specialty referrals, and more. It has extended weekday and weekend hours to accommodate live performance schedules.
The Friedman Health Center will provide health care services to your covered dependent children only if they are 18 years of age and older, but if your child also is a performer working in entertainment and performing arts then they can be treated at the Health Center.
